Job Description: Atlassian Tools Engineer (2–5 Years’ Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Atlassian Tools Engineer with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in administering, configuring, and optimizing the Atlassian product suite. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Groovy scripting, Atlassian Data Center (DC) upgrades, and migrations across environments (DC-to-Cloud, Cloud-to-Cloud). Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and customize Atlassian tools including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence, and related marketplace apps.
- Perform Atlassian Data Center upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Lead and execute migration projects such as:
- Jira/Confluence Data Center to Cloud migrations
- Cloud-to-Cloud migrations
- Develop automation scripts using Groovy, ScriptRunner, and REST APIs to enhance functionality and improve workflows.
- Implement integrations between Atlassian tools and external systems (e.g., Slack, Git, CI/CD tools, Identity Providers).
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Perform, workflow design, custom fields, security settings, dashboards, reports, and automation rules.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.
- Maintain system health, performance, and governance best practices.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and migration runbooks.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, JSM, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Strong expertise in:
- Jira and JSM configurations (schemes, workflows, SLAs, automation, queues, portals)
- Confluence administration and space management
- Installation, administration, and optimization of DC instances
- Groovy scripting and ScriptRunner automation
- Experience with Atlassian migrations (DC → Cloud and Cloud → Cloud).
- Familiarity with integrations using REST APIs and marketplace apps.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Certifications
- Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) certification preferred.
- If not currently certified, the candidate must be willing to obtain ACP certification within 6 months of joining.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Bitbucket administration.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL principles.
