Cambridge Technology Financial Services Inc (CTFSI) is growing by creating innovative solutions in the Financial Services arena using AI and ML expertise to create exciting growth for our clients. 


The Principal Platform Engineer is a key member of the CTFSI product leadership team and is responsible for the development, engineering, and delivery of products vital to the CTFSI business. This role will be responsible for building and then managing a team made up of CTFSI employees and vendors/partners and will be a key leader in the development and deployment of the new products. This role will require an individual who has both deep technical skills as well as strong leadership and management skills. 


The Principal Platform Engineer will have accountability to establish and deliver continuous product development (responsibility for full delivery of sprints), day-to-day management of engineering resources (internal and external), and services integration. In addition, this role will partner with peers to assure that the business strategy translates into action with a commercial bias to the approach.  


The role requires a unique skillset in that it requires an individual who has strong technical skills in working with AI/ML solutions and Services/Microservices architecture, Cloud based solutions, Agile development methodologies, deep expertise in Financial Services (both from a technology, as well as a business perspective), and must have a strong track record of success in delivering Product.  In addition, will need to have strong communication and team building skills, with the ability to partner with CT Labs and Advisory groups to establish strong relationships.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or AI/ML 

  • 10+ years in software and/or systems engineering experience 

  • 3+ years working with AI/ML products or solutions 

  • 5+ years in working in Financial Services related role (including vendor, consulting roles)  

  • Experience in developing and delivering FSI related products  

  • Experience defining and building products from scratch 

  • Experience in managing multi-faceted developments teams that include resources from multiple locations and/or vendors 

  • Experience leading small, diverse teams of technology professionals, cross-skilling individuals to achieve broader team objectives 

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools 

  • Experience in integrating and commissioning engineered back office platforms 

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and managing multiple stakeholders 

  • Pragmatic, results driven attitude 

  • Strong initiative and resilience to maintain drive in an environment that is rapidly evolving and changing constantly. 

  • Dedication to delivering outstanding service – commitment to deliver outcomes in an ambiguous environment. 

  • Required ability to work outside of normal business hours/overnight, to include weekends, as business needs dictate

Preferred 

  • 5+ years of product engineering leadership 

  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML related development 

  • Proven commercial awareness including planning, budgeting, management of 3rd party vendors  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

Desired 

  • Proven experience in establishing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines 

  • Proven experience with developing products on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
